Fans Are Worried About Giada De Laurentiis After Her Latest TikTok Video

Maybe she was going for shock value? Fans have flooded Giada De Laurentiis' latest TikTok video to express their concern after the former Food Network star shared a, well, surprising new recipe to the platform: chocolate pasta.

"Alright, this is a childhood favorite of mine when I was having a bad day. Chocolate pasta," De Laurentiis says a viral video, which amassed over 21k likes. She later followed up the post with a step-by-step on how to make it. "Goooo make it!!!! Chocolate pasta movement has begun," she wrote in the caption.

"Bowl of pasta topped with a little chocolate. Honestly, nothing is more comforting and more of a hug," De Laurentiis says. "And listen, it’s not the sexiest of dishes, but it’s dang good."

In the TikTok, Giada adds her pasta shells (from her own line, Giadzy) to a pot of boiling water, before straining it and topping the noodles with a chocolate hazelnut spread (also from Giadzy, naturally). "It's a little bit cleaner," she says of the Nutella dupe. "It’s like your parmesan cheese."

"You know, this started when I was a kid," she continues. "My mom used to do it with Nutella or chocolate chips or whatever, but I was also the kid that had chocolate sandwiches for breakfast so I don’t think it’s that weird."

Now, some fans were onboard with the concoction. "If Giada says to eat pasta with chocolate… we eat pasta with chocolate," one user wrote, while another added, "This looks bomb idc what anyone says."

However, the vast majority of the audience was downright concerned. "I love u forever but idk about chocolate pasta," someone chimed in. "Giada, I love you like cooked food but this is a bridge too far," another responded.

"You know what friend, I already ate but you go ahead," a third person joked.

"Someone needs to go check on Giada! 😂😂😂" a fellow chocolate pasta hater said.

While our own Assistant Food Editor Francesca Zani says she "never heard/seen/grew up with" chocolate pasta, she admits that "it might be a thing. Seems like chocolate or cocoa pasta doughs are more popular."
